The International Symposium - Internet Presentation "Laser
Technologies and Lasers ("LTL Plovdiv 2001") was held
Sept.23-26, 2001 in Plovdiv and in Smolyan, Bulgaria. The Symposium
was organized by Institute on Laser and Information Technologies
- RAN, Russia, Institut National de Metrologie, Conservatoire National
des Arts et Metiers, Paris, France and "Optela - Optical Technologies"
- Joint-stock Company, Bulgaria. The main sponsor of the Symposium
was "Optela - Optical Technologies". The co-organizers
were Technical University-Sofia, branch Plovdiv, Bulgarian Academy
of Sciences, University of Plovdiv, Union of Scientists in Bulgaria
- Plovdiv, European Inter-University Centre of Medical Radiation
Physics and Techniques - Plovdiv and Saedinenie Corporation - Plovdiv.
The organizers intent was to provide a meeting place for bulgarian
and foreign scientists and applied engineers working in the field
of laser technologies and laser technique and physics. This meeting
has to give them an opportunity to be acquainted with the latest
achievements in hot topics in laser technology and laser technique
and physics. In this meeting 8 invited scientific reports were delivered.
The possibilities for discussions were further enhanced by the poster
session. The "Optela - Optical Technologies" Company organized
a special presentation-exhibition of its production. The Internet
presentation of the reports abstracts was also given. About 60 scientists
and engineers from Bulgaria, Russia, France, Greece, Japan and India
attended the Symposium. The place of the Symposium was one of the
beautifuls bulgarian towns - Smolyan. It is disposed in the Rhodopes
Mountains. The evenings of the Symposium were provided in informal
and relaxed atmosphere, typical for well-known Bulgarian hospitality.
This permits very useful non-formal professional contacts between
the participants. The organized excursion for the participants permits
them to enjoy to the beauty of the tourist landmarks of the Rhodopes
Mountains (Pamporovo, Rogen, visit of the Bulgarian National Observatory)
and Plovdiv town.
The organizing Committee appreciates the support of Mr. Peter
Nejchev, Director in "Saedinenie" Corp., Dipl.Eng.Peter
Stajkov, Executive Director of "Optela - Optical Technologies"
